A Thank You to Homeschooling Moms

“We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you.”
(Colossians 1:3)

THANK YOU for teaching your child to love and study God’s Word. He may be my pastor one day.

THANK YOU for teaching your child to dissect that yucky cow’s heart on your kitchen table. Her hands may hold the scalpel that will save my life one day.

THANK YOU for teaching your child to work hard, pick up his clothes, be kind to children, and kiss his mother goodnight. He may one day be the father of my grandchildren.

THANK YOU for teaching your child to love learning. She may one day research the cure for the cancer that threatens us all.

THANK YOU for teaching your child that all life is precious. He may one day sign the legislation that protects me when I am old, senile, or no longer productive.

THANK YOU for teaching your child to pray. She may one day help bring about revival in my generation.

THANK YOU for teaching your child to love people and peace. He may one day broker a peace agreement that prevents war in my lifetime.

THANK YOU for teaching your child to share her faith. She may one day be the Sunday school teacher who leads my grandchildren to the Lord.

THANK YOU for another year of homeschooling. Well done.

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we do not faint” (Galatians 6:9).

  Homeschooling is HARD!

This post is a sample from Lori's devotional book, Joy in the Journey - Encouragement for Homeschooling Moms.

With a devotion for every week of the school year, Joy in the Journey helps remind you that God wants to be a vital, active part of your homeschool. Each chapter contains devotions specific to what a homeschooling mom encounters each month. With application questions, an action step, and a prayer, it's suitable for personal devotions or for use by your support group for meeting topic ideas.

You've invested in wonderful curriculum for your children this year; why not invest in something for yourself?

  1. Thank you for the heartfelt post. I've been homeschooling for 22 years, & I have 3 more kiddos to graduate. By the time I'm done, I will have homeschooled for about 30 Years!

My married children's spouses are thankful for the years I've invested, so that makes it worth it! They are all living for The Lord and are blessings in their respective churches. God is good!
