Hungry for God; Starving for Time

Monday

I'm Not Doing Christmas this Year

“I’m thinking about not celebrating Christmas this year,” I overheard a woman say.

“They don’t appreciate it.”

“Someone always picks a fight, and I end up crying.”

“It’s messy.”

“I’m the only one who sacrifices.”

“They don’t seem to care.”

“It’s just too costly.”

What if Jesus had said this on that first Christmas?

“But I always do. . .” the woman admitted. “. . . because I love them.”

“Me too,” Jesus said. “Me too.”

He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name (John 1:11-13).

Merry Christmas to you. May Christ live fully in your heart every day of the year.
